Ecuador is a small country in South America that, despite its size, has four distinct regions hosting an unparalleled biodiversity. Thanks to its relatively small size, it is quite easy to travel around the country, which makes it possible to enjoy the magic of the manifold nature of Ecuador in a short period of time.
The unique nature of Ecuador can be attributed to its wild topography, which is split into four distinct main regions:
The Oriente (Rainforest) or Amazon Basin, which is the most biodiverse region of the country and one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, offering excellent wildlife safaris and canoe explorations along the many rivers.
The Sierra (Highlands), along the Andes Mountain range boasting many volcanoes and excellent hiking trails, and where you can find cities like Cuenca and Quito, both part of the Cultural World Heritage and Quito being the capital of Ecuador.
The Litoral (Pacific Coast), which boasts warm weather all year, offers long beaches, tropical dry and humid forests and delicious seafood dishes.
The Galapagos Islands, about 1000 km (621 mi) off the coast, where Darwin famously developed his theory of evolution due to the endemic wildlife, many of which show no fear of humans, so it can be observed and photographed close by!
Within each region, lodges provide the perfect base to explore the surrounding nature during day tours together with your knowledgeable guide to get to know the flora and fauna of each region and enjoy unique cultural experiences including the typical food, traditions and believes. Please contact us for availabilities, recommendations and complete programs according to your personal requirements.
