KUYANA ISLAND AND GUITARRACOCHA TRAIL

Ancestral cultural knowledge has given its name to the Guitarracocha trail, because at night in this small lagoon-like formation you can hear the sound of guitars. On this route you can explore the Kuyana Island and take a refreshing swim on the banks of the Hollin River. Difficulty level 3, on a 5-point scale and lasts about 3 hours round trip. NATURAL OIL TRAIL

In this walk you can enjoy the project of extraction of natural essential oils from Amazonian plants for medicine and aromatherapy. After learning about this fascinating project, you will be able to end your walk with a refreshing bath in our waterfalls. Difficulty level 2 on a 5-point scale and lasts about 3 hours round trip. BIRDWATCHING TRAIL

Early in the morning, around the trails of the Kuyana Lodge, you will be able to witness the beauty of the Amazonian birds and their songs. Species such as oropendolas, caciques, kingfishers, parrots, parakeets and many different species of tanagers will be part of this unforgettable experience. Difficulty level 2 on a 5-point scale and lasts about 2 hours round trip. (Tour within the reserve)

RAFTING

You will have 4 hours to feel the adrenaline rush of running class III rapids. Our professional and internationally certified guides will make you laugh and enjoy every part of the day while you feel safe and at ease. Discover crystal clear waters, colorful orchids and Amazonian landscapes that will leave you impressed. We make sure to take you through the most exciting parts of the river so you can enjoy it to the fullest. Stop to swim, relax, and enjoy beach games. (Tour outside the reserve)

AMAZON SAFARI

Guided tour by non-motorized canoe to a beautiful lagoon, where we can observe countless birds, some monkeys and other species. During this unique safari you will travel down the Napo River in a motorized canoe until you reach an indigenous community, where you will be greeted with a dance and taught a little about their culture. Difficulty degree 3, on a 5-point scale and lasts about four hours. (Tour outside the lodge). 1 hour drive to the activity

USHPAYACU TRAIL

The Usphayacu estuary is made up of springs and natural springs in the area. The estuary crosses the Lodge, and its great attraction makes this walk the ideal place to immerse yourselves in the jungle and enjoy it in its maximum splendor. On this trail you will be able to observe the waterfalls that are formed throughout the walk and take a bath in pristine natural pools. Difficulty degree 3.5, on a 5-point scale and lasts approximately four hours. (Tour within the reserve)

NIGHT WALK

Discover the magic of the Amazon jungle at night. We invite you to meet and be part of a night walk, where you can learn more about the nocturnal species that inhabit the area. The walk lasts approximately 40 minutes, low degree of difficulty. (Tour within the reserve)

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

If you visit the Amazon jungle, you cannot miss the opportunity to share time with local cultures. At Kuyana Amazon Lodge we offer an afternoon to experience aromas, colors, flavors, textures and cultural beliefs particular to this area. You can prepare and enjoy a traditional yucca-based drink, chicha de yuca, as well as many delicious typical foods such as maito and chontacuro, and of course make your own chocolate!!!!!!! VISIT TO A QUECHUA FAMILY

We love to share the customs of the area, and what better way than to be received in the home of a Quechua family from the Community of Santo Domingo del Hollín. Approximately 50 families live in this community that preserve their traditions, customs and knowledge about native plants. This activity lasts approximately 2 hours, low degree of difficulty. Entry Requirements

 

The following information is provided by the Ministries of the Interior and Human Relations for citizens who wish to visit and get to know Ecuador.

Therefore, Responsible travel as a tour operator considers the following guidelines in order to generate a satisfactory experience on your trip through Ecuador. Nevertheless, please note that any requirement can change without prior notice, and it is the responsibility of each traveler to make sure to comply with the current requirements when entering the country.

Visa

The duration to visit the country is 90 days a year; if you are going to extend your visit, it is recommended to pay an extension.

Applying for a visa

In the case of entering the country by land or river

The Government, through its Ministries, provides that foreign citizens who enter the country through the land or river borders of Colombia and Peru may present their apostilled certificate indicating that they do not have a criminal record; this certificate must have been issued in their country of origin or residence in the last five years.  or in turn request the review of the corresponding information through the Ecuadorian Migration System (SIMIEC).

The following individuals are exempt from filing

  • Holders of a valid Ecuadorean visa
  • Holders of diplomatic passports
  • Children and adolescents under 18
  • Victims of human trafficking.

COVID-19 rules

There is not a COVID certificate needed at the moment, but if you experience symptoms prior to your trip, you can complete a health application and bring it to the airport.

Conditions for passport validity

The passport must be valid for at least half a year. Access is restricted without a valid or reported lost document

 Galapagos Islands

People could visit until 60 days. For enter, you need to present:

When you leave the country, you must declare the foreign exchange if you exceed the aggregate of $1,380.

Personal ID

As a regular law, you must carry your identification. Always keep a copy of your passport, with the pages containing your photo and Ecuadorian entrance stamp.
