You Need to Know About Lodges in Ecuador

You can visit the Amazon at any time of the year. There is a dry season from December to February, this is a time when we don’t have much Rain, and because of this, the Cuyabeno River (Our main River for navigation) decreases from around 5 meters deep to 1 meter deep. During the dry and rainy season there are many animals to see! Ask our experts about the best time to visit for your interests, preferred activities and the types of animals you would most like to spot! For avid birdwatchers, make sure to ask about our bird-watching tours, designed for the best chance to see as many species as possible!

People travelling alone can easily join on of our groups and stay in shared accommodation, (a great chance to meet others) but if you want a single accommodation you will need to pay an extra. Don’t hesitate to ask us about different accommodation arrangements.

During high season ( June-July-August-September) we recommend booking in advance, for the rest of the year you can book any time within 1 week before but it depends on the season. Also, we recommend that you book in advance if you want to design a personalised trip so that we can prepare everything you need.

We recommend bringing repellents high in DEET for the night and day walks, at the laguna grande in the afternoon, but when you are on the bus/pick up, canoe, and lodge products containing DEET are not necessary. However, if you have strong reactions to bites, we recommend that you wear repellent, especially for little ones

Precaution against yellow fever is recommended especially for the adventures and long tours. Before departure, visit your doctor to get the most up to date health information. Don’t sleep with the mosquito net open or in an accommodation that allows mosquitoes to get in, close your mosquito nets. If you wear glasses or contacts, bring an extra pair. If you have significant allergies or chronic medical problems, wear a medical alert bracelet and bring your own medicines.

Before coming to Ecuador, please get travel insurance.

If you want you can bring only a color copy of your passport and a color copy of your stamp from when you arrived in Ecuador, that’s what they will want to see at the checkpoints found in some places in Ecuador. When travelling around Ecuador, please take your original passport.
