DAY 1
Your journey begins here! Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and a refreshing local drink. Get ready for a short introductory session where we’ll share all the essential details about your stay and planned activities.
Next, set off to explore Kuyana Island and the enchanting Guitarracocha Trail. This trail is steeped in legend locals say that at night, the sound of guitars can be heard near its mystical water formations. Along the way, discover the beauty of Kuyana Island, take a rejuvenating swim on its pristine shores, and visit the scenic viewpoint offering stunning vistas of the Hollin River. Known as one of the cleanest rivers in the Amazon and a major tributary of the Napo River, it’s a sight to behold. This moderately challenging hike is rated 2.5 out of 5 and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
In the evening, savor a delectable dinner featuring a fusion of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients crafted into mouthwatering dishes.
DAY 2
Start your day early by immersing yourself in the vibrant sights and sounds of Amazonian birdlife. Enjoy a full day of delicious meals, each prepared with a creative blend of fresh, regional produce.
Later, visit the inspiring Quechua Women’s Project (Amupakin), located just 25 minutes from the lodge. Guided by the wisdom of Quechua women, this sacred space unveils the secrets of nature and ancestral medicine. Here, midwives preserve a millennia-old legacy, using time-honored techniques to assist in births. You’ll witness a simulated birth led by a midwife and learn about the “ancestral hospital,”
where natural practices are used to guide new life into the world.
The experience culminates with an ancestral purification ceremony, designed to cleanse your spirit and release negativity. Finally, explore the world’s largest green pharmacy and discover its incredible benefits.
Return to Kuyana Lodge for a delightful lunch.
In the afternoon, dive into a traditional cooking class where you’ll prepare and taste local specialties like maito and chontacuro. As a sweet finale, try your hand at making your own chocolate—a true Amazonian treat.

DAY 3
Wake up to the symphony of Amazonian birdsong and enjoy another day filled with scrumptious meals made from fresh, local ingredients.
Embark on a guided trek to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls. The Ushpayacu estuary is a remarkable natural wonder, fed by a network of springs and water sources that flow through the area. This lush jungle oasis offers breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls and is home to a rich diversity of birds, insects, and wildlife. Rated as moderately challenging (3.0 out of 5), this hike typically takes around 3 hours, providing ample opportunity to connect with the wonders of the rainforest.

Visit the Quechua Women’s Project (Amupakin). Located 25 minutes from the lodge by vehicle, this sacred space is guided by the ancestral wisdom of Quechua women. Here, you’ll uncover the deep secrets of nature and traditional medicine. The midwives, keepers of an ancient legacy, will demonstrate a traditional birth led by a midwife and teach you the ancestral techniques they use.
