Journey to the Lodge
Embark on an exciting adventure from Coca to the lodge in the Amazon. After a short transfer and a flight, you’ll be welcomed at a private dock with refreshments and a boxed lunch. Enjoy a motorboat ride along the Napo River, followed by a serene canoe trip through a creek to the lodge, where you can spot monkeys and birds. Upon arrival, take in the stunning views of Lake Añangu, receive a welcome drink, and get briefed on the lodge’s services before settling into comfortable rooms with jungle views.
Jungle Exploration
Start your day early with a visit to the parrot clay licks, located an hour and a half from the lodge. Arriving just before the morning activity, you’ll have the chance to observe various species, including parrots, parakeets, and macaws. Next, visit the Kichwa Interpretation Center “Kuri Muyu,” managed by local women, where you can learn about Kichwa culture and purchase local handicrafts. The excursion continues to a second parrot and parakeet clay lick through the Terra Firme Forest, offering opportunities to see different birds and mammals. After lunch, return to the lodge via the main stream, providing additional chances for wildlife sightings, and conclude your day with a delightful dinner.
Adventure and Observation
After a delicious breakfast, lodge guests will embark on a thrilling sunrise hike to the observation tower in the Napo River area. This tower, standing 36 meters high and just 30 minutes from the lodge, offers unique views of the forest canopy, allowing you to observe tanagers, macaws, toucans, and monkeys. After lunch, hike through a terra firme forest in search of the elusive golden-mantled tamarin monkeys. Later, explore the lake and streams by canoe, with hopes of spotting giant otters. The lodge features a second observation tower above the restaurant, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon. Conclude the day with dinner followed by a night walk to observe insects, reptiles, amphibians, and even nocturnal monkeys with the help of flashlights.
