Itinerary
Guests will be collected from Coca airport and taken to the Rio Napo, a short 10-minute drive away. Alternative arrivals from Quito to Coca include private car or bus. Guests will embark on Eden’s private motorized canoe, enjoying a box lunch during the trip. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on river conditions. Upon reaching Eden’s entry point, guests will trek with a bilingual guide for about 30 minutes through the forest to Rio Yuturi, where paddle canoes will take them to Eden Amazon Lodge. After settling into their cabañas and having a brief rest, the guide will lead a one-hour walk on the Parahuaco Trail. Dinner will be at 7:00 PM, followed by a briefing on the next day’s activities.
A wake-up call at 6:30 AM starts the day, with breakfast served at 7:00 AM. Guests will then embark on a 2.5-hour walk along the Wangana Trail led by a bilingual and a Kichwa guide, returning by paddle canoe for a 1:00 PM lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, guests can paddle around Yuturi Cocha to enjoy the wildlife and sunset. Dinner is at 7:00 PM, followed by an outline of the following day’s plans. Guests interested in exploring the nightlife can join a guided night walk to spot nocturnal animals like Night Monkeys, spiders, and frogs.
The day begins with a 6:00 AM wake-up call and breakfast at 6:30 AM, followed by a 7-hour hike on the Otorongo Trail with a bilingual guide, returning by paddle canoe. Lunch will be served in the forest. Evening activities include lake canoeing and optional night walks.
After a 6:30 AM breakfast, guests will paddle around Lake Yuturi, walk to Rio Napo, and visit the Eden community to buy handicrafts and meet the lodge’s owners. On the return trip, a swim in Rio Napo from a small river island is offered, with lunch on the river beach and a friendly soccer match. Following lunch, guests return to the lodge. Late afternoon includes a visit from the local Shaman for an optional cleansing ceremony, subject to availability. Dinner is at 7:00 PM.
The morning begins with breakfast and a short walk to Eden’s birding tower, where guests can birdwatch until lunch. Afterwards, guests are invited to paddle in Lake Yuturi and its tributaries to spot wildlife, including Giant River Otters. Evening options include a night walk or caiman observation on Lake Yuturi.
After an early breakfast, guests embark on a full-day trip to Pañacocha. They will cross Lake Yuturi, take a nature walk to Rio Napo, then travel by fiberglass canoe to Lake Pañacocha to observe wildlife and search for Pink River Dolphins. Lunch will be served in the canoe. The group returns to Eden Amazon Lodge in the afternoon. Dinner is at 7:00 PM, followed by a night walk or lake visit by paddle canoe.
After breakfast, guests will engage in a nature walk, with trail options decided by previous wildlife sightings. Lunch is at 1:00 PM at the lodge, followed by fishing opportunities in Lake Yuturi for piranhas and other fish species. Dinner is at 7:00 PM, with an option for a night walk or lake excursion afterwards.
An early morning wake-up call precedes the departure to Coca. Breakfast is provided on the boat. Assistance with airport or bus station transfers will be available upon arrival.

Meals
Our meals are prepared with as many local ingredients as possible, such as chonta, maito, yuca, plaintain, cachama, free range chickens and eggs. Our cook and the rest of the kitchen staff will delight and please you with their imaginative interpretation of local dishes as well as international cuisine. We are happy to cater to special dietary requests, such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerances and others.
Cabañas are outfitted with 110V and ceiling fans. The generator is inside a walled room and set away from the cabañas to reduce noise levels to a minimum. Every single cabaña has a front deck facing the lake along with the sunset, for a beautiful view.
