Itinerary

Guests will be greeted at the Coca airport and transported to the Napo River, a short 10-minute drive. Alternative options for arriving in Coca from Quito include private car or bus.

From there, guests will travel aboard Eden’s private motorized canoe. A box lunch will be served during the journey. After approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the river’s water level, the canoe will reach the entrance to Eden. Guests will then take a 30-minute guided walk through the forest to the Yuturi River, where paddle canoes will transport them to Eden Amazon Lodge.

Once settled into their cabañas and after a brief rest, the bilingual guide will lead a one-hour walk along the Parahuaco Trail (Saki Monkey Trail).

Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, followed by a briefing about the next day’s activities.

The day starts with a wake-up call at 6:30 AM, followed by breakfast at 7:00 AM.

Guests will then be guided on a 2.5-hour walk along the Wangana Trail, led by a bilingual and Kichwa guide. Afterward, they will board paddle canoes to return to the lodge for lunch at 1:00 PM.

The trail and river offer excellent opportunities to spot monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. After lunch, guests are invited to paddle around Lake Yuturi (Yuturi Cocha) to observe the wildlife and enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the lake. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, followed by an orientation about the next day’s activities.

For those interested, a guided night walk will be available, offering a chance to spot Night Monkeys and other fascinating creatures, such as spiders, frogs, and insects.

 

The day begins with a wake-up call at 6:00 AM, followed by breakfast at 6:30 AM.

Guests will then embark on a 7-hour hike along the Otorongo Trail, guided by a bilingual guide, and return by paddle canoe. Lunch will be enjoyed in the heart of the forest.

 

Early morning wake-up followed by departure to Coca. Breakfast will be provided on the boat. Assistance will be given to guests with their transfers to the airport or bus station.

Meals

Our meals are prepared with as many local ingredients as possible, such as chonta, maito, yuca, plaintain, cachama, free range chickens and eggs. Our cook and the rest of the kitchen staff will delight and please you with their imaginative interpretation of local dishes as well as international cuisine. We are happy to cater to special dietary requests, such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerances and others.

 
Accommodation
 

Cabañas are outfitted with 110V and ceiling fans.  The generator is inside a walled room and set away from the cabañas to reduce noise levels to a minimum.  Every single cabaña has a front deck facing the lake along with the sunset, for a beautiful view.

The duration to visit the country is 90 days a year; if you are going to extend your visit, it is recommended to pay an extension.

Applying for a visa

In the case of entering the country by land or river

The Government, through its Ministries, provides that foreign citizens who enter the country through the land or river borders of Colombia and Peru may present their apostilled certificate indicating that they do not have a criminal record; this certificate must have been issued in their country of origin or residence in the last five years.  or in turn request the review of the corresponding information through the Ecuadorian Migration System (SIMIEC).

The following individuals are exempt from filing

  • Holders of a valid Ecuadorean visa
  • Holders of diplomatic passports
  • Children and adolescents under 18
  • Victims of human trafficking.

COVID-19 rules

There is not a COVID certificate needed at the moment, but if you experience symptoms prior to your trip, you can complete a health application and bring it to the airport.

Conditions for passport validity

The passport must be valid for at least half a year. Access is restricted without a valid or reported lost document

 Galapagos Islands

People could visit until 60 days. For enter, you need to present:

Foreign Exchange

When you leave the country, you must declare the foreign exchange if you exceed the aggregate of $1,380.

Personal ID

As a regular law, you must carry your identification. Always keep a copy of your passport, with the pages containing your photo and Ecuadorian entrance stamp.

The native language is Spanish. Some indigenous people speak Spanish, Quechua, and English. The indigenous communities living in the jungle speak their languages and dialects.
