Day 1:
Your adventure begins with a private pick-up from your hotel or the airport. We’ll journey through the breathtaking “paramo” ecosystem, ascending to an altitude of 4,000 meters before descending into the lush Amazon region. Our first stop is a magical spot teeming with vibrant vegetation, where you may spot up to 14 species of hummingbirds buzzing around every minute! From there, we’ll continue to Huasquila for a delightful lunch.
After a brief rest, we’ll set out on a guided walk to a stunning waterfall, where you can enjoy a refreshing and energizing bath. Along the way, you’ll encounter medicinal plants, a serene lagoon, the iconic Huasquila tree, and even have the chance to swing from a vine like Tarzan. Returning to the lodge, a delicious dinner awaits, accompanied by the soothing soundtrack of frogs croaking from the nearby lagoon.
Later in the evening, immerse yourself in a hands-on chocolate-making session. You’ll learn the entire process, from roasting cacao beans to grinding them, and finish by savoring a delectable dessert made with fresh fruits.
Day 2:
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a jungle trek (approximately 3 hours) through both primary and secondary forests. Along the way, we’ll explore a 120-meter-long cave, home to fruit bats. Just a short distance away, accompanied by our native guide, we’ll visit the majestic “Golondrinas” waterfall, standing approximately 14 meters tall, where you’ll have the opportunity to take a dip in its refreshing waters.
On the return journey, we’ll stop at a Guayusa plantation and processing facility. In the afternoon, after lunch, we’ll visit a Kichwa community. Here, you’ll participate in traditional dances, learn about their rich culture, and witness the preparation of “chicha,” a traditional drink made from yuca (cassava). In the evening, enjoy a dinner featuring regional specialties.
Afterward, embark on a 40-minute night walk around the lodge gardens. Keep an eye out for frogs, grasshoppers, insects, and—if you’re lucky—bioluminescent fungi, adding a touch of magic to your jungle experience.
Day 3:

Following breakfast, we’ll travel to Punta Ahuano for a full-day excursion in Misahuallí by canoe. Activities include a peaceful canoe ride, a hike to the towering Ceibo tree, and a visit to the Amazon Rescue Center, with the option to try tubing down the river. Afterward, we’ll visit the caiman lagoon and enjoy a boxed lunch before boarding river transport back to the port.
The day concludes with a satisfying dinner at the lodge.
Day 4:
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Papallacta, renowned for its natural hot springs. Spend the day relaxing in these therapeutic waters while enjoying the serene mountain scenery. A boxed lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer you back to Quito in a private vehicle, marking the end of this unforgettable Andes-to-Amazon adventure.
