Accessible Tourism guide in Ecuador

Ecuador is the scene of surprising nature, diverse cultures and the most varied customs. It is northeast of South America, it has natural treasures such as the Galapagos Islands, the exotic Amazon jungle and majestic volcanoes in the Andean Sierra. Accessible Tourism is the social, cultural and economic phenomenon that allows the movement of people with disabilities to countries or places outside their usual environment for leisure or business reasons. This tourism facilitates the access of these people to tourist products and services.

For a destination to be classified as accessible, it must have facilities and services belonging to the tourist offer (agencies, information, accommodation, transport, stations, airport, restaurants, etc.) adapted and designed for the needs of everyone, especially people with disabilities.

These requirements are not always met since there should be no barriers that hinder the activity and the joint action of all members of the tourism offer will create an environment that benefits both disabled people and tourism companies. The word accessibility can be understood in relation to three forms of human activity: mobility, communication and understanding.

In this guide you will find general information on accessible tourism, accessible travel logistics, main tourist destinations and accessible tourism ventures.
